Admittedly, I am new to blogging. It is an activity that both intimidates and excites me. On the surface, blog writing appears to be among the easier forms of written communication. The word itself evokes the image of words drunkenly falling out of an SUV and exposing their underwear. On the other hand, I’ve been given the opportunity to blog on Showflicks.com, a juggernaut of amusement and cutting edge content delivery. With that in mind, I should probably raise my blogging standards to a higher level. If you, dear reader, are ever using the word “Kardashian-y” to describe this blog, please let me know and I’ll try much, much harder.
So what can you expect from my Giggle Flicks blog?
1) Reviews and links to books, documentaries, and films about comedy.
2) Interviews with funny people.
3) Thought provoking opinion pieces.
4) Behind the scenes insight on the original content found on Giggle Flicks.
5) Stuff I’ve jotted down in less than ten minutes.
The Gliggle Flicks Blog will be more than a superficial look at the people who make us laugh. It will be the starting point of discussion regarding the craft of comedy, the issues that affect the art and business of humour, and will shine a spotlight on the work that is making a significant contribution to the culture at large. If you’re hoping to hear scathing reviews of the members of my comedy brethren, you’ve come to the wrong place. First, as a comedian/writer/actor, I feel there’s a conflict of interest. Second, I can too easily recall the last time my material was met with stony silence to start hurling insults at Carlos Mencia.
In conclusion, I hope you all the hilarious content on Giggle flicks! There’s some really funny stuff on here. I’ll be blogging around twice a week, so come back and see how the next few blogs are far less introductory. Until next time!
